About JGAS

Fostering global artistic talent through cultural exchange and dedicated support in the heart of Japan.

Our Mission

The Japan Global Arts Scholarship (JGAS) is committed to identifying and nurturing exceptional artistic talent from around the world. Our mission is to provide a transformative platform for emerging artists, enabling them to explore their creative potential, engage in profound cultural exchange, and develop into global ambassadors for the arts. We strive to break down financial and geographical barriers, making a world-class arts education in Japan accessible to those who demonstrate passion, skill, and a unique vision.

Our Vision

We envision a vibrant global arts community where artists from diverse backgrounds collaborate, innovate, and inspire one another. JGAS aims to be a leading force in this vision by cultivating an environment of creativity, mutual respect, and lifelong learning. We see our scholars not only excelling in their chosen disciplines but also contributing meaningfully to society through their art, promoting cross-cultural understanding and a deeper appreciation for the diverse expressions of human creativity.

A Brief History

Founded in 2010 by a collective of artists, philanthropists, and cultural enthusiasts, the Japan Global Arts Scholarship was born out of a shared desire to connect Japan's rich artistic heritage with the burgeoning talents of the international community. What started as a modest initiative has grown into a prestigious program, attracting applicants from numerous countries each year. Over the past decade, JGAS has proudly supported over 100 scholars, many of whom have gone on to achieve significant recognition in their fields. Our commitment to excellence and cultural exchange remains the cornerstone of our operations as we look forward to empowering future generations of artists.

We believe that art is a universal language, and through JGAS, we aim to amplify voices that might otherwise go unheard, fostering a richer, more interconnected global arts landscape.
